Description "The Sun". A girl is knitting under a flowering tree. The bright sun is reflecting on the windows perhaps in her memory.
Yumeji Takehisa has been considered as the main figure who propelled “Taisho romanticism”. The dreamy, fragile looking girls Yumeji invented in his works were so popular during 1900 - 1930s that they became the cultural icon of the Taisho - early Showa era. Many artists imitated this "Yumeji Look" in order to jump on the band wagon of Yumeji popularity. YTEven today, he has been one of the beloved artists in Japan.
