Description From "Tokaido Meisho Hiza Kurige" ("Famous Places of Tokaido; Shanks Mare").
Yaji and Kita were eating charcoal broiled dumplings at a local tea house. Kita burned his mouth by a dumpling with hot charcoal. Yaji gave a dumpling to a dog. Since the dog saw Kita burned his mouth, he did not eat the dumpling immediately, but rolled it on the floor once, then ate it.
This series depicts the scenes from the popular novel "Tokaido-chu Hiza Kurige" (Shanks Mare : 1802 - 22) by Jippensha Ikku (1765-1831). The mis-adventures by the funny travelers, Mr.Yaji and Mr. Kita who caused havoc at the inns and the visiting places along the Tokaido.
The novel was very popular and the subsequent series of misbehaving duo was written, they even went to Europe and USA.
