Keishu Takeuchi, 1861-1942    Kuchi-e
Keishu Takeuchi was a student of the great Meiji ukiyo-e artist Yoshitoshi Tsukioka. Typical for the period of the late nineteenth and early twentieth century, Keishu Takeuchi worked as an illustrator making mainly kuchi-e - frontispiece illustrations for magazines and novels.

Dated Ca. 1900 -1910's.
Publisher Bungei Kurabu.
Medium/Technique Woodblock print.
Impression Very good.
Colors Very good ... Shomen-zuri patterns on the hair.
Condition Very good ... Lightly toned. Two vertical folds as usual for kuchi-e. Slight foxing and discolorations on the left. Two sections of the Edges are folded.
