Kappa and Cucumber

Kunibo Wada 1899-1992

A Kappa is carrying a kid on her back and a green cucumber in her hand.
"Kappa" is a half-human half-turtle monster. It lives near water and has a reputation of dragging unsuspected humans into the water and takes "kimo" (liver) out. In humorous side, it and the comrades are often playing with other small animals like rabbits and frogs and enjoying sumo wrestling. It is usually associated with cucumber because of its green color.
