Tadamasa Ueno studied with Torii Kiyotada. Although a modern printmaker, he devoted his work to traditional Kabuki and actor prints. In 1940 a series of 18 Kabuki designs were published by Watanabe. Another one was abanoned after 7 panels due to war shortages. In 1952 two series were published.
