Katsunori Hamanishi studied at Tokai University. The artist uses mezzotint and elaborate, individual techniques of high standard. Sometimes he applies gold leaves to his print works. The style of his works is abstract with a combination of photorealistic depiction of objects. Works by Katsunori Hamanishi are in the possession of all larger museums like the British Museum, the Metropolitan Museum and the Museum of Modern Art in New York, the Library of Congress in Washington D.C. and the Achenbach Foundation in San Francisco.
