Dear friends of shin hanga prints

Auction # 126 offers original Japanese prints of the shin hanga movement - pre-war and early post-war editions. Bidding is open on www.artelino.com/auction/catalog.asp and will close coming Sunday, August 29, at 20:00 PM = 2:00 PM in New York.

This auction offers an original bijin print by Goyo Hashiguchi for a reserve of only USD 800. This is not a print from the later commemoration edition, but an original printed at Goyo's lifetime. Such prints normally cost several thousand dollars. The low reserve of this one is due to a condition problem of the silver mica background. The image of the bijin (beautiful woman) is however without any problems.
