Muller Collection November 20, 2003
Dear friends of Japanese prints
Finally - artelino's Muller collection is open and 96
wonderful lots from one of the finest and largest
collections of Japanese shin hanga prints are waiting
for you and your bids on
www.artelino.com/auction/catalog.asp.
After the death of the collector and art dealer
Robert O. Muller on April 10, 2003, four thousand of
his prints were bequeathed to a museum - the renowned
Arthur M. Sackler Gallery of the Smithsonian Institute.
Other parts of the collection came into the market.
We prepared some information about Robert O. Muller
and the story of this incredible collection in our
latest article on
www.artelino.com/articles/muller-collection.asp.
Pre-announcement for December 4: artelino received a
consignment of 88 prints from Yoshitoshi's series
"100 Aspects of the Moon". This collection comes from
a European family, who has been in possession of it for
several generations. The prints are not from a torn
apart album, but from the earlier single sheet
impressions - in top quality - not trimmed and not
backed.
kind regards
your artelino team
