Japan Auction - October 17, 2004
Dear friends of Japanese art auctions
Auction # 139 of artelino offers a (hopefully) lucky
number of hundred Japanese prints and is now open for
bidding on www.artelino.com/auction/catalog.asp.
It will close coming Sunday October 24 at 8:00 PM
Central European Time (CET) = 2:00 PM in New York.
The prints in this auction were all handmade
in the 20th century - originals like Hideaki Kato
and Katsuyuki Nishijima, later printings from the
original blocks by Toshi Yoshida, Hasui and Tsuchiya
Koitsu and recuts from the 1930s of the 36 famous views
of Mt. Fuji by Hokusai and early 20th century recuts
of the Kyoka Tokaido by Hiroshige.
Among the commercial online auction sites specialized
in Japanese prints, artelino is the only one offering
considerable contents like our archive of thousands
of sold prints or a database with nearly 2000
Japanese artists. Maintenance and development requires
effort and money that must come from the commissions
we earn in our auctions. We think it is only fair
towards you, our clients, to restrict full access to
those who buy from us. We therefore intend to restrict
full access like viewing of prices in our archive or
search functions to our clients. Please feel encouraged
to give us your feedback if you agree or disagree.
your artelino team
