Art Auction Japan and China Prints - May 5, 2005
Dear friends of Japan and China prints
"Any plan is bad that cannot be changed." (Italian proverb)
We want to inform you that we changed our auction plan on
short term. A very important consignment, shipped from Japan,
arrived late and we could not finish the auction
preparation for "Japanese Collector Prints" as originally
planned. And the prints for the next Chinese auction
special have not even arrived yet.
We are going to continue the current auction # 175
of "Three Woodblock Masters" with Hao Boyi, Shi Yi and
Hao Ping until coming Sunday, May 8 at 8:00 PM = 2:00 PM
in New York. Immediately following, auction # 176 -
"Japanese and Chinese Collector Prints" will begin
and run for one week until May 15. This auction will
present one of our largest (and we think also best)
collections ever. It will offer more Edo and Meiji prints
than you are used from us. We have been entrusted with
a very large consignment from an important collection in Japan.
To alleviate possible withdrawal symptoms for you, we
opened on www.artelino.com/auction/catalog.asp?evt=195 a
sneak preview of 40 prints out of the more than 200 lots
that you will have at your fingertips coming Sunday, May 8
at 20:00 PM local time (CET) = 2:00 PM in New York.
Please take a look at our current auction of prints
by Hao Boyi, Hao Ping and Shi Yi. In ten years from
now, you might be sorry about a unique chance you missed.
These three masters of Chinese woodblock printmaking
are in their importance comparable to Hiroshige,
Kuniyoshi and Kunisada for ukiyo-e printmaking
in Japan in the 19th century.
Enjoy the collection, and if you like our site,
please bid in our auctions and buy from us.
your artelino team
