Chinese Woodblock Prints - May 1, 2005
Dear friends of Chinese woodblock prints
This is our third auction exclusively devoted to Hao Boyi,
Shi Yi and Hao Ping. These three woodblock printmakers are
leading artists in today's China. Their importance for modern
Chinese woodblock printmaking is in our view comparable
to that of artists like Hiroshige, Kunisada or Kuniyoshi
for Japanese ukiyo-e in the 19th century or Picasso,
Salvador Dali or Juan Miro for modern 20th century painting.
You find a short portray of these three masters on
www.artelino.com/articles/chinese-woodblock-masters.asp
The auction is open on www.artelino.com/auction/catalog.asp
and will end coming Thursday, May 5 at 8:00 PM = 2:00 PM in New York.
This time we offer 61 prints, ca. double the amount
of the last auction of "Three Woodblock Masters".
We know that we will hardly sell more than 30-50%,
but we wanted to give you a maximum of choice.
Since we have started to offer modern Chinese prints
about two years ago - then practically unknown among
Western art collectors - we have seen so many
wonderful art work from China. And more and more
of our clients from as far as Australia have turned
into passionate collectors of these stunning
contemporary Chinese prints.
Most of the Chinese prints are very large, and
therefore shipping is expensive - for the large
sizes even more than we charge you. But you can
save shipping fees by accumulating purchases from
several auctions to have them shipped in one
package for one shipment fee. And If the total of
your purchases (hammered prices) is at least
USD 1,000, we even ship for free.
Enjoy our web site. And if you like what we do,
please bid and buy in our auctions.
your artelino team
