Chinese Woodblock Prints by Lü Min - October 24, 2004

Dear friends of Chinese woodblock prints

Auction # 140 of artelino is open for bidding with reduction woodblock prints by Chinese female artist Lü Min on www.artelino.com/auction/catalog.asp. The auction will close coming Thursday October 28 at 8:00 PM Central European Time (CET) = 2:00 PM in New York.

We have been looking forward to this auction with some excitement since we held these prints in our hands for the first time about two weeks ago. Lü Min, born 1962, is among China's leading printmakers with a long list of national exhibitions and awards, but also shows outside China - Japan, Austria (Vienna), Taiwan, Hong Kong and in Germany. She is represented in the London based collection of the Muban Foundation as no. 29 in a list of only 60 selected contemporary Chinese woodblock printmakers. But not enough: A few of the prints that we offer won awards at national art exhibitions. Two lots are early works from 1986. And editions are from 10 to 50 only. The reserves are reasonable. And last but not least, Lü Min's prints are mesmerizing.
