Chinese Auction with Prints by Guan Housheng - May 22, 2005Dear friends of Chinese prints Bidding for auction # 179 - twelve reduction woodblock prints by Chinese artist Guan Housheng - is open on www.artelino.com/auction/catalog.asp and will close coming Thursday, May 26 at 8:00 PM local time = 2:00 PM in New York. We had prepared this auction well, but did not dare to announce it earlier. The prints had not yet arrived from China. Finally, at the very last moment, we got them - safe and sound. We offer 12 medium and large-sized woodblock prints in reduction technique (from one block) by Guan Housheng, a 'First State Artist' and Director of Harbin Art Institute. You find the artist's resumé on www.artelino.com/artists/guan-housheng.asp and an explanation of the technique of reduction woodblock prints on www.artelino.com/articles/reduction-woodblock-print.asp We are still receiving e-mails from registered artelino users who have been flooded with these xenophobic, right wing sh.. spam mails - most in German language. We have ABSOLUETLY NOTHING TO DO with it, nor do you receive it because of your registration on artelino. Please delete this stuff unopened. The sender's e-mail addresses of this dirt are all faked, using domains of popular web sites like msn.com, verisign.com or bluewin.ch, and also artelino.com. For more information you can read Reuters news on www.reuters.com/newsArticle.jhtml?type=domesticNews&storyID=8507023 Another effect lately caused some confusion among our registered users, who had placed bids in our auction simulation on www.artelino.com/auction/catalog.asp?evt=1&eve=20&spe=0 The auction simulation works like the real thing, but without money and merchandise of course. If you place a bid with your own account, you may be outbid one day by someone else and receive an outbid message (if you chose this option for your account). You recognize that it is about the auction simulation by the low item numbers from 1 to 40 or by following the link in the outbid message. If you want to test the auction simulation and avoid getting an outbid message, use only the dummy clients, 'Goofy', 'Minnie' or 'Daisy'. Anyway, we reset all old bids yesterday to zero. Last but not least, we want to bring your attention to the web sites of two of the "oldest" German Ukiyo-e galleries. One is Heide Bücklein, who continues the business founded by her mother in 1961 on www.japanese-prints.com. The other web site is by Monika Schmidt on www.japankunst.de/index_e.htm. She has owned and managed a gallery for Japanese Art with emphasis on Japanese woodblock prints for decades in Munich. Enjoy our web site. And if you like what we do, please bid and buy in our auctions. your artelino team Past, Current and Coming Art Auctions in 2005 |
