The artelino web site is to our knowledge by far the most popular site for Japanese and Chinese art prints in terms of thousands of daily visitors. With our archive of ten thousands of sold prints and hundreds of articles, signatures and several thousand short biographies of Japanese and Chinese print artists it is like a huge museum - with free entrance.
But with the financial crisis many of you stopped buying in our auctions. The recession is over and we hope you guys will be coming back to our auctions and many new clients will join us! A free museum and empty auction rooms - that cannot work. If you like our web site and use our contents, please do also bid in our auctions. - Dieter and Yorie

This auction is important and crucial for our further development of auctions of contemporary Chinese art prints. We would be pleased to see you in this auction and hope for lively bidding.

This figure of a Japanese Buddha was not produced through a mould, but in the ancient art form of Cire Perdue or Lost Wax Process. The artist first created this image in wax, using his hands and simple tools made of animal form. Then the wax was coated with layers of clay and dried for weeks. The wax was melted out and copper metal poured into the cavity. The method insures that each piece is an original and not mass produced.

Recently we received several requests from people who wanted to sell prints that they had bought on the Internet from a company that is specialized in worthless Japanese junk prints. Please note that consignments to artelino require a minimum quality standard and that we do not take prints with severe condition problems. Please read our article about the influence of condition on the value of Japanese prints.
