Hao Ping, born 1952, is one of the leading, classical Chinese printmakers. His woodblocks are symphonies in color and composition. Hao Ping prints them with very thick oil-based inks. His smaller format prints with image sizes of ca. 15 by 15 inches (38 x 38 cms) are ideal for a first contact with modern Chinese prints. The pliable paper and the medium size allow safe shipping in a tube for reasonable prices. This page contains a collection of these small/medium format paper works by Hao Ping. Hao Ping's prints achieve record prices in China at Guardian Auction House in Gangzhou. Prices for his paper works might take a similar development like silkscreens by Andy Warhol bought in the 1970s.
