Li Xiu, born 1943, is one of the best known woman artists in China. She belongs to the ethnic minority of the Yi in Yunnan where she holds a teaching position at the University of Kunming. Li Xiu has exhibited widely in China, Japan, the United States and Europe. Her art works are in many public museums and private collections including the Muban Collection in London. Shigeko Inoue, born 1945, creates woodblock prints depicting water landscapes. She had studied printmaking in Italy at the Urbino Art Institute. The artist exhibits her woodblock prints frequently at the prestigious, annual CWAJ print show at the American Club in Tokyo. In Japan she has had numerous group and solo shows - among others a solo show at Yoseido Gallery. Her art works are in Kouno Art Museum in Ehime/Japan and in the Art Museum of Hangzhou in China.

Sarah Brayer, born 1957, lives in Kyoto/Japan and New York/U.S.A. She is known today for her poured washi paperworks, aquatint and woodblock prints. Upon her arrival in Kyoto in 1980, she studied etching with Yoshiko Fukuda and traditional woodblock printing with Toshi Yoshida. Art works by Sarah Brayer are in the collections of the British Museum, the Smithsonian Sackler Gallery and the American Embassy in Tokyo.

Tanaka Ryohei was born in 1933 in Osaka prefecture. The artists's preferred technique is a combination of etching and aquatint. His prints show nature subjects and landscapes from the rural area around Kyoto in Japan in fine lines and subtle gradations of mostly black, gray, white and brown colors. Ryohei Tanaka is internationally recognized. His prints can be seen in large museums like the Achenbach Foundation in San Francisco or the Metropolitan Museum in New York.

Miss Xiong Xiqiu was born in 1979 in Chongqing city, where the famous Sichuan Art Academy is located and where she began to study printmaking in 1998. In the meantime she finished her postgraduate's studies and teaches art at the normal university of Chongqing. In spite of her young age, she has attended important art exhibitions like the National Printmaking Exhibition and the Printmaking Exhibition of Etching, Lithography and Silkscreen and has won many prizes. In 2005 she was admitted for the 17th National Print Exhibition
of China - the top event for Chinese printmakers. Her artworks "Super Girl No.1" and "Super Girl No.2" were shown on full page in the official catalog on page 101.

Takuma Hanawa was born in 1947 in Hachioji City in the larger Tokyo area. In 1972 he graduated from the famous Musashino College.
In 1973 he came to France for further art studies. This has influenced his style and subjects. Mr. Takuma Hanawa is a member of Japan Print Association. He has received many awards and has exhibited with the major galleries in Tokyo since his graduation. The artist works in woodblock technique.

The art prints by Wen Mujiang, born 1970, deal with the contrasts and cultural changes in today's China. The booming economy in the 1990s and at the beginning of the new millenium created rapid social and environmental changes that set in only twenty years after the end of the Cultural Revolution under Mao Zedong. Wen Mujiang's woodcut prints are interesting works of art and documents of today's China with a message.

Thomas Allom, 1804-1872, had studied architecture at the Royal Academy Schools in London. He had traveled extensively in Europe and especially in Asia, the main subjects of his engraving works. One of his best known works is a series titled "China Illustrated".

Paul Jacoulet (1902-1960) was a native French born in Paris in 1902. In 1906 he came to Japan with his parents where he quickly adopted the Japanese culture. He made several trips to the South Sea. Subjects with portraits of islanders from the South Sea make a great part of his works. During World War II he remained in Japan but moved from Tokyo to Karuizawa. His works are an interesting synthesis of a French artist and a Japanese woodblock printmaker.

Kerry Pendergrast was born in 1963 in Australia. In 1993 she moved to Ubud in Bali and is married with Pranoto, an Indonesian artist. Kerry works in oil, watercolors, pastels and line drawing. The strong colors and the rich plant life of Bali are reflected in her lush and sensitive images. Kerry Pendergrast has exhibited in Indonesia and Australia. In 1999/2000 her works were shown at the Indonesian pavillion of the world expo in Hannover/Germany.
