Zhao Xin is still very young. He has started a brilliant art career in China. But he is still at the beginning. And he has no international exhibition history yet except for Kasakhstan. It is a question of time in our view. Mr. Zhao Xin was "discovered" by our art agent in China.

Li Pingfan

Li Pingfan, born 1922, had lived in Japan during world war II. He had worked with the sosaku hanga artist Hide Kawanishi. Li Pingfan has great merits in the development of the Chinese printmaking method of the wet-water technique with water-soluble inks. In 1987 the artist was honored for his merits in supporting the art exchange between China and Japan. In 1998 at least one of his works was shown in an exhibition at the Guggenheim Museum "China 5,000 Years". In 2006 Mr. Li Pingfan was still active in printmaking.

Ding Lisong

Mr. Ding Lisong is both a traditional and a modern Chinese printmaker. His technique - water-soluble inks - is the traditional Chinese method of making a woodblock print. And the selection of his subjects and the way how Mr. Din Lisong brings them on paper, are modern and traditional at the same time. His prints show the quiet beauty of Chinese landscapes. The artist is director of Qidong Print Institute.His works are in the Chinese National gallery, the National Library in Paris, Fukuoka Gallery of Japan and others.

Zhu Rui      Yunnan Art School

Zhu Rui was born in 1970 in Simao city in the very South of Yunnan province. In 1992 he graduated from the Art Department of Yuxi Normal School of Yunnan province. In 1995 he continued his printmaking studies at the printmaking department at CAFA (Chinese Academy of Fine Arts). Mr. Zhu Rui currently works as a professional artist at Qujing Art Institute in Yunnan. His technique is mainly reduction woodblock prints. Favorite subjects are landscapes and the ethnic minority people of Yunnan that he shows in strong colors printed with thick oil-based inks.

Wang Yuhui      Broken Glass

Wang Yuhui is a painter and printmaker from Yunnan. He has exhibited widely in and outside of China. His works have even been shown at two of prestigious art fairs - the International Art Fair of Basel and at the International Art Expo in New York.

Hu Xinqiao      Urbanization in China

Hu Xinqiao was born in 1972 in Hanyang city of Hubei province. In 1995 he finished his studies of printmaking at Hubei Art Academy. The young artist is a member of Hubei Artists' Association. Currently he works as a teacher at Hubei Art Academy. The artist has become famous with his 'City series' in which he deals with the alienation of the city dwellers in modern China. Hu Xianqiu creates extremely fine rendered woodblock prints and lithographs.

Su Yansheng

Mr. Su Yansheng was born in 1961 in Ningxia municipality in the North-West of China. In 1986, he finished his printmaking studies at Xi'an Fine Art Academy, printmaking department. In 2000, he continued the art studies at CAFA (Chinese Academy of Fine Arts), and received his master degree. Currently he works as professor at Fine Art Institute of Ningxia University. Mr. Su Yansheng works in reduction woodblock, etching and silkscreen. He has contributed regularly to the national China Print and Art exhibitions.

Kang Yongming      Master of Fenyin

Kang Yongming, born 1943, is a well-known representative of a special Chinese printmaking technique named "fenyin". The characteristics of "fenyin" is the use of gouache colors. Fenyin was developed at the end of the Qing Dynasty (1911). Art works by the artist are in the collections of National Chinese museums and of museums in Germany (Munich) and Japan.

Mr. Zhao Haipeng was born in Xian County in Hebei Province in January, 1945. He graduated from Tianjin Fine Arts College in 1969. Today he is a well-known and influential master artist in China. Zhao Haipeng works in the traditional Chinese woodblock technique with water-soluble inks. His preferred subjects are nature and landscape images.

Mr. Wang Weide, born 1944, is a painter and printmaker from the Autonomous Region Ningxia Hui in northwest China. Mr. Wang Weide represents 4 decades of printmaking during a time period that is characterized by great political transitions. The works of the artist are like a mirror of the different times - from the turmoils of the Cultural Revolution under Mao Zedong to a liberal art market.
