Chen Yuping, born 1947, had started a careeer as a hydraulic engineer, before he began as a professional artist and printmaker in the 1980s. He depicts the landscape of the "Great Northern Waste Land" in strong and vivid colors. His printworks have earned many awards at national collections and are in the posessions of China National Art Gallery. Two book compilations have been published with his artworks in Hong Kong and in Taiwan. Chen Yuping has had 4 solo exhibitions in Japan.

Pan Xiaoling, born 1956, is one of the best known of the Huxian farmers painters. She is exceptional both as an artist, but also in her drive to promote and sell her art. She was the first in the village to install a telephone, the first to publish an album with her paintings in 1993, and the first to buy a computer to sell her paintings via the internet. Xiaoling's art paintings have been shown widely in and outside of China.

Yuji Hiratsuka was born in Osaka, Japan, in 1954. In 1985 he moved to the United States. Since 1992 he has been teaching printmaking at Oregon State University. His graphic work has been exhibited in the Americas, Europe and Asia and has received numerous awards in national and international competitions. His works are in The British Museum, Tokyo Central Museum, Moma (Museum of Modern Art) and Public Library in New York and many others.

Shan Dan, born 1954, lives in the Autonomous Region of Inner Mongolia. After a thorough art training at the Academy of Fine Arts in Beijing, she has worked as art teacher and printmaker in Tongliao, Inner Mongolia. Her breakthrough as an artist came in in the late 1990s, when she was honored with a solo exhibition at the China National Museum of Fine Arts in Beijing in 1998. And one year later, she had received the Luxun Print Prize.

Lü Min was born in 1962 in Kunming, the capital of Yunan province in China and graduated from Yunan Art College. The artist creates woodblock prints with oil-based ink colors and uses rather large flat areas with soft and appealing colors. Lü Min's art prints look as if they were made by a woman - and that's what they are. The female artist has won many awards in China and has an impressive international exhibition record, which is still rare for contemporary Chinese artists. Lü Min exhibited in Japan, Austria, Germany, Taiwan and Hong Kong.

Fang Limin, born 1964, is vice-director of the printmaking department at China National Academy of Fine Arts (CNAFA) in Hangzhou. In spite of his youth he has gained wide recognition and can show a long list of awards at Chinese art exhibitions. He is one of the 60 artists whose works were selected for the collection of the London based Muban Foundation.
