Condition is paramount for collectors of Japanese art prints. The same print design by the same artist can be worth $500 or $100 or be worthless. This article tries to shed some light on the importance of condition and on a more recent phenomenon of worthless junk prints flooding the online market for Japanese prints - like the one here on display.

our first online auction site in December 1997. It was fully interactive, programmed with the latest Microsoft technology and at that time it was Germany's first interactive art online auction and a bit of a technical milestone. The first version was not very user-friendly, but online bidding worked!
