Reading Surimono Japanese Book Publication.
Brill (formerly Hotei Publishing) has released a new book publication for freinds of Japanese prints - "Reading Surimono". This full-colour catalogue illustrates and describes over 300 surimono (privately published deluxe Japanese prints) belonging to the Graphics Collection of the Museum of Design Zurich, which were recently placed on long-term loan to the Museum Rietberg Zurich. The Life and Works of Haku Maki By Daniel Tretiak
We have recently encountered a book about the Japanese artist Haku Maki (1924-2000). The author is Daniel Tretiak, born 1937, who has studied Maki's life and works for the past years, after beginning to collect the artist's prints in the 1960s. ISBN 978-1-4327-0575-6.
