Renzan Kishi was a painter who lived in Kyoto. He was a pupil of his father-in-law Kishi Ganku by whom he was adopted. Renzan Kishi specialized in landscapes and nature (kacho-ga) paintings. The artist is known for the paintings of wild geese on the walls of the Imperial Palace in Kyoto (Roberts, 1976).
