Yoshimitsu NOMURA  -  1870 - 1958      Shin Hanga from Kyoto

Nomura Yoshimitsu studied art under Yoshikuni Nomura in Osaka. He later studied the western style art under Bigo and painted the theater backdrops such as "Kamogawa Odori". Yoshimitsu belonged to the Kyoto circle of Shin Hanga artists who worked for the publisher Sato Shotaro. He depicted the popular theme with light, swift touch. Nomura Yoshimitsu took part in the famous Toledo exhibition in Ohio in 1936.
