Yoshiro NAGASE  -  1891-1978      Sosaku Hanga Artist

Yoshiro Nagase was born in Ibaraki prefecture. He had studied with Kuroda Seiki and at Tokyo School of Fine Arts and at Kyoto City Specialist School of Painting. In 1913 he changed his name to Kamen. From 1929 to 1936 he studied in France and was even admitted to the famous Salon d'Automne. His techniques were woodblocks and stencils.
