Mieko KAWACHI  -  born 1947      

Mieko Kawachi was born in Gunma prefecture in 1947. She studied with Hodaka Yoshida and Akira Matsumoto , graduated from Sokei Art School in 1971. She is a member of Nihon Hanga Kyokai and made solo and group shows with CWAJ and at Grenchen and others. Merritt described, "Her crisply executed prints often depict carefully placed people or flowers accentuated by negative space".
