Sekka KAMISAKA  -  1866-1942      World of Things

Sekka Kamisaka was born in Kyoto and worked as a designer of ornaments. He has been considered as one of the great Japanese artists in the early 20th century. He was the leading figure of the new Rimpa movement. The artist made several woodblock albums, "A Thousand Butterflies" in 1903, "World of Things" in 1909 and "Poems and Pictures" in 1934.
