Ichiro Fukui was born in Imai city in Nara prefecture. He made both western style oil paintings and woodblock prints. In 1922, he estublished artist group, "Colboe" and perticipated in the Nihon Sosakuhanga Association exhibition, Nihon Art exhibition by Mainichi Osaka. After he studied art in France during 1925 - 1928, he perticipated in estublishing Sankokai with Hide kawanishi. After 1935, he had more solo exhibitions rather than perticipating in group exhibitions. Most of his works showed sophisticated lines in copper etching and his woodblock prints were rare.
