Kokuta Suda was born in Saitama prefecture. His real name was katsusaburo. He had received awards three years in a row from Kofukai in 1930s. Award from Shin-Bunten, "Girl", 1938. "Reader", 1939. "God General" from Bunten, 1942. "Turban in Pink" from Nitten, 1947. He belonged to Kokugakai from 1949 and was active in the modern Japanese art scene. He did book illustration and book publishing, also. His works are strong and wild based on black.
