Dong JIANSHENG - born 1936
Dong Jiansheng was born in Hebei in 1936. After he worked for some years at the Masses Art Centre of Tangshan he began his studies at the CAFA (Central Academy of Fine Arts) at the age of 45. He was awarded with some prizes, for example in 1996 he won the Lu Xun prize by the CPA (Chinese Printmakers' Association) for being an outstanding printmaker of the 1950s and 1960s. Most of his prints picture the rural life in North China.
