Kiyoshi IKEZUMI  -  born 1913      

Kiyoshi Ikezumi was born in Tokyo and graduated from the design division of the Tokyo School of Fine Arts. After the Pacific war he worked as a freelance designer and print artist. KIYOSHI IKEZUMI is executing many wood-block prints under the theme of people and town scenery of Japan in 1920's.
Kiyoshi IKEZUM said about his woodblock print series of retro-stores and houses, "There have been many corner shops, artisan shops, and neighborhood shrines and temples. Nowadays, these good old stores are gradually disappearing, being replaced by the new large-scale buildings. I tried to preserve these Japanese good old towns before corner shops and neighborhood of unknown artisan completely disappear."
