Segai Ikawa studied under Tomioka Eisen. He worked as an illustrator, painter and printmaker and was represented at the "official salon" exhibitions of Teiten. Segai Ikawa contributed to the series "Shin Ukiyo-e Bijin Sho" (New Ukiyo-e Beauties) from ca. 1924.
