Kakuyu SHODA  -  1879-1947      Artist from Kyoto

Kakuyu Shoda was born in Nara in 1879. He had studied Japanese-style painting under Yamamoto Shunkyo and had graduated from the Kyoto Municipal School of Fine Arts and Crafts. The artist specialized in landscape paintings and prints. Later Kakuyu Shoda worked as professor at the Kyoto School of Painting. The artist was a member of Kyoto Art Association and contributed frequently to Bunten.
