Hiroshi GIMA  -  born 1923      from Okinawa

Hiroshi Gima was born in Okinawa prefecture in 1923. He had studied oil painting and woodblock printing at Osaka Municipal Art Institute. Hiroshi Gima contributed to the China-Japan Show in 1964 and to the Tokyo Print Biennale in 1968. His preferred subjects are related to his homeland Okinawa. In 1971 he received the culture prize from Mainichi publishing company for illustrations of children's books.
