Seizo HIRAKAWA  -  1896-1964      

Seizo Hirakawa was born in Hiroshima and died in Tokyo. He was a pioneer member of the early Sosaku Hanga movement. His intricate but eerie wood-engraving works were critically acclaimed in the exhibitions of Nihon Sosaku Hanga Society, Shunyo-kai as well as in the traditional Teiten before W.W.II. His works are in the collections of The Aichi Prefectural Museum of Art, International Hanga Museum of Machida City, The National Museum of Modern Art Tokyo.
