Tadayoshi Nakabayashi was born in 1937 in Tokyo. He graduated from Tokyo University of Fine Arts and Music. Later a scholarship by the Japanese government enabled him to study in Paris and in Hamburg. He is professor at Tokyo University in the section of art prints and member of Japan Print Association. Since 1970 he has exhibited regularly abroad. Works by Tadayoshi Nakabayashi are in The British Museum, the National Library of France, the National Library of Congress in Washington D.C. and in major museums in Japan.
