Katei TAKI  -  1830-1901      Painter of Kacho-ga

Katei Taki worked as a painter of kacho-ga (images of birds and flowers) in traditional Japanese and Chinese style during the Meiji period. He had studied under Araki Kankai. His works were shown at the Vienna World Exposition of 1873. Katei Taki was a member of the Art Committee of the Imperial Household, an honorary membership that demonstrates the public recognition of an artist at that time.
