Hakuho HIRANO  -  1879-1957      Bijin

Hakuho Hirano was born in the old emperor residence of Kyoto. He had studied classical Japanese painting and printmaking as well as modern Western style painting. His prints were published by Watanabe Shozaburo. The artist was represented in the famous Japanese prints exhibition in Toledo/USA of 1936. Hakuho Hirano is best known for two bijin designs - 'Before the Mirror' and 'After the Bath'.
