Tomimaro HIGUCHI  -  1898-1981      Maiko Images from Kyoto

Tomimaro Higuchi was born in Osaka. He studied at the Kyoto City Specialist School of Painting from which he graduated. One of his teachers was Kitano Tsunetomi in Osaka. Tomimaro Higuchi worked as a painter and printmaker and illustrator. He became an established artist exhibiting regularly at the great art shows at Bunten, Teiten and Inten. The prints we have seen so far, show Maiko (a Geisha apprentice in Kyoto) images.
