Tai LIPING  -  born 1952      Chinese Folk Art Prints

Tai Liping is director of Fengxiang New Year Printmakers association of Shanxi Province and a leading top artist of the popular Chinese folk art print. Tai Liping had learned the high techniques of traditional Chinese New Year printmaking from his father Tai Yi. After the destructions caused by the Cultural Revolution, Tai Liping collected the remains of old blocks in remote rural areas and brought the tradition back to life. His folk art works have been shown in Japan, Australia, France and Hong Kong. His merits for the preservation of the Chinese popular folk print deserve the deepest respect of art lovers worldwide.
