Kenkichi Sugimoto was born in Nagoya City. He graduated from Aichi Prefectural Industrial School. Since the 1930s he received several prizes at Bunten and Nitten. Kenkichi Sugimoto made his name famous for works of ceramic murals in Japanese temples and public museums.
