Pieter VAN DER AA  -  1659-1733

Van der Aa was born in Leyden in the Netherlands. At the age of nine he was apprenticed to a bookseller and at the age of 21 he established himself as a book publisher. His output in atlases and maps was enormous. The maps published by him were largely copied from others, but they were very decorative. And this is why today's collectors love him.
