Eishi Hosoda 1756-1829

Eishi Hosada was born as the son of a Samurai family and was appointed to a high rank at the court. He later left the public service and devoted himself entirely to printmaking and painting. His favorite subjects were beautiful women. He also produced some prints with landscape and historic subjects.
