Sadao Watanabe is an outstanding name among Japanese 20th century artists. His prints are easily recognizable in subject and style. The Christian artist specialized in depictions of scenes from the bible, shown in a naive-looking, sometimes humerous, Japanese-like style. Sadao Watanabe became very famous in Western countries as well as in his homeland Japan. Practically all renowed museums of this world are in possession of Sadao Watanabe prints. Under one U.S. administration they hung even in the White House. The technique used by the artist is Japanese stencil printing.
