Shigenobu YANAGAWA - 1787-1832 Pupil of Hokusai

Shigenobu Yanagawa

Shigenobu Yanagawa got his second name after the town where he was born - Yanagawa. He started his career as a pupil of Hokusai and finally became his master's son-in law by marrying his daughter. Shigenobu specialized in prints of bijin (beautiful women), landscapes and in the financially attractive surimono prints.
