Shu Ueno was born in Tokyo. After he graduated from the oil painting department of Tokyo Art University, he had his solo show in 1965. He received Yamamoto Kanae Award from Nihon Print Association and became its member in 1971. His favorite media is woodblock printing. He has been active inside and outside of Japan. He is a professor of printing at Takazawa Art & Crafts collage.
