Kiyonaga TORII  -  1752-1815      From the Golden Age of Ukiyo-e

Kiyonaga Torii, 1752-1815, was a student of Torii Kiyomitsu. After the death of his master, he was adopted by the Torii family and continued the family business of print- and bookmaking and was active in painting. Kiyonaga Torii is considered a major printmaker of his time. His subjects cover all motifs popular at the end of the 18th century - bijin, actors or genre scenes.
