Kunbi Taniguchi 1909-1964

Kunbi Taniguchi was born in Tokushima prefecture. He created his first woodblock prints while he was still working as a teacher at an elementary school. In 1939 he began to study under Koshiro Onchi and was active in local sosaku hanga artist groups. After world war II he had various art exhibitions and could gain some awards before he died due to a severe illness at age 55.
