Kyoichi Tanaka was born in Wakayama prefecture. He studied Japanese style painting in Tokyo School of Fine Arts and exhibited a water color with "Fyuzankai" in 1912. He was the founding member of "Tsukubae" with Onchi Koshiro and Fujimori Shizuo. Although he was dying by tuberculosis, he contributed 10 prints to Tsukubae, published in 1914 - 15. His works were published by Onchi Koshiro during his short life time. After his death, the exhibitions were held for his works by Nihon Sosaku Hanga Association.
