Mr. Xu Chengchun was born and has lived in Liaoning Province located in the North of China with boundaries to the Yellow Sea and the Korean peninsula. The region is characterized by cultural tradition and a great wilderness landscape that used to be populated by nomads and animals of the North like elks, birds, bears, wolves.

Mr. Zhang Liufeng's art works are characterized by a very distinctive style. These lithographs have an athmosphere of its own. The people that are shown in such series like "Fortress Besieged" look so real but somehow lost and left alone. For us at artelino these images are still not yet interpreted. But they have have a mesmerizing charm that is hard to describe.

China Art Prints      The New Art Wave from China

Contemporary Chinese art has seen an explosive demand in and outside of China. Bidders pay as much as 6 million US $ for a painting by Zhang Xiaogang, born 1958, at international auctions in Hong Kong or New York. Art prints are still in the shadow of this booming market, although prices for some artists have risen up to 5 times of what had to be paid 5 years ago when we at artelino began to offer modern prints from China.

Yang Yuguang - born 1970      From the Great Wilderness.

Yang Yuguang's art prints are a regular guest at the national Chinese prints exhibitions. These are major juried events for Chinese printmakers for which less than 200 artists are selected out of more than a thousand applications. Mr. Yang Yuguang is from the group of Heilongjiang artists known for their focus on the landscapes and nature of this former wilderness area.

Du Hongnian      Grand Old Master of Modern Chinese Printmaking.

Du Hongnian, 1928-1998, is a pioneer and grand old master of modern Chinese printmaking. He is from the same generation as Chao Mei, born 1931, and Gu Yuan (1919-1996). Prints by these early giants of modern Chinese printmaking are today rare and expensive.

Zhou Donghua      Heilongjiang Artist

Mr. Zhou Donghua, a Christian, was born in 1970 in Heilongjiang province. He studied Chinese woodblock printmaking with Mr. Zhou Shenghua. Mr. Zhou Donghua is a member of Chinese Artists Association and of Chinese Printmakers Association. His woodblock prints have been selected by the 11th, 13th, 14th, 15th, 16th, 17th Chinese National Prints Exhibition. The woodblock print "The Sun in Autumn" was selected for the 10th Chinese National Art Exhibition.

Zhang Zexin      Popular Artist from Heilongjiang, China.

The artist Zhang Zexin is very popular in his home province Heilongjiang. The people like the way he shows this land in his woodblock prints. And art juries like the artist's works too by accepting his applications for renowned Chinese exhibitions and by awarding prizes to Mr. Zhang Zexin. And even people from outside China seem to like these beautiful images. They have been shown in several European and Asian countries and in Canada.

Xiao Qingjiang      Heilongjiang Artist

Xiao Qingjiang creates woodblock prints of the landscapes of Heilongjiang province. His style is traditional and modern at the same time. The artist uses few colors and few details in his woodblock compositions. And nevertheless, or maybe just because of this limitation, his art works have atmosphere.
