Artist Tadashige Ono 1909-1990
Description "Hashi" (Bridge).
Tadashige Ono was much influenced by the proletarian movement. Although he did not make any overt political statements, his harsh, dark city landscapes and objects amply expressed the anxiety and conflicts in the modern society.
Signature "T. Ono" on the bottom right. "Tadashige Ono, title, edition number are handsigned in ink on a washi-paper attached on the back. (All his prints have these hand written notes attached on the back).
Dated 1959.
Medium/Technique Woodblock print.
Impression Very good ... Self-carved, self-printed by the artist. Printed on a black colored paper.
Colors Excellent - very good .
Condition Very good ... Upper area is pasted on a long fibered decorative Japanese paper. Paper is wrinkled as usually seen in this artist's works.
