Many residents in Tokyo area make a short vacation trip to relax in the hot spring and to enjoy the fresh sea food and panoramic view of Sagami bay. Atami is mostly inside of the Fuji-Hakone-Izu National Park. Warmed by the Kuroshio Current offshore, the area is noted for its moderate martime climate with hot, humid summers, and short winters. |
